Just in case this was missed during the usual Thursday/ Friday deluge of releases. Brisbane alt-indie outfit Cub Sport pulled out a surprise offering which features the divine vocals of Darren Hayes. The track “I Never Cried So Much In My Whole Life” definitely has the longest song title of a single I have come across in a while. Seeing as both The 1975 and Lewis Capaldi have earned great success off of absurdly lengthy titled album releases. Might this also serve as a good omen for the cubbies as well?

What we know of Cub Sport’s music already, is that is generally, tender, gentle and offers up, strokes of softly sounding synths. Teamed with beautifully, poignant themes bound by Tim Nelson’s frank and intimate songwriting. I definitely discovered this on my personal Cub Sport favourite songs “Chasin‘”, “Sometimes” and “Party Pill.” “I Never Cried So Much In My Whole Life” follows the trend style-wise, swapping out the synths for the strums of acoustic guitar accompaniment.
