Once again I find myself drooling over another Australian electronic act. Move over Sweden, the Aussies are delivering some powerful stuff!

“We Love I Know” by newcomers Lusinth caught my attention on this rainy day with its chopped samples overlaying an acoustic guitar. The production duo featuring Charlie Tait and John Cleworth impressed me with their atmospheric sound that loosely resembles Flying Lotus, who the duo cites as one of their biggest inspirations.

In “We Love I Know,” Lusinth combines alternative chords and hip-hop rhythms to present a striking chillwave sound. This smooth vibe is dominating electronic music right now. The mix of sound effects and a mid-tempo pace creates a mood that blends downtempo and experimental electronic music. If Lusinth continues in the direction they are going, we may see them share a stage with acts like Toro Y Moi or M83. On the band’s Soundcloud page we continue to hear a mix of indie electronic tunes embellished with skillfully played guitars, drums and samples. It is an impressive start for the Sydney based newcomers.

If I told you these guys are just a couple of band kids in high school, would you believe me?
