\u00a0It was the first time he ever performed his new English language tracks <em>&#8220;Whatever Whatever&#8221;, &#8220;Random Freakness&#8221; <\/em>and &#8220;<em>Before The World Is Gone&#8221;<\/em>. \u00a0He&#8217;s the next big thing if you ask me and many of the fans in the crowd were in united agreement.<\/li>\n<li><em>Addictive<\/em>&#8230;wow! \u00a0Those girls can sing! \u00a0Not only did they deliver with new original song <em>&#8220;Material Girl&#8221;<\/em> and new single <em>&#8220;The Domino Effect&#8221;<\/em> &#8211; they paid special tribute to <em>Michael Jackson<\/em> with a guitar laden version of <em>&#8220;Beat It&#8221;.<\/em> \u00a0It was beyond amazing and I&#8217;m an even huger fan now&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><em>QBoy<\/em> worked the crowd into a frenzy when he stripped off, but frankly, he had to &#8211; his set of <em>&#8220;Bounce Rave&#8221;, &#8220;Ghetto&#8221; <\/em>and <em>&#8220;The Scream Track&#8221;<\/em> was way hot. \u00a0He decided to do an upbeat set because well, &#8220;swine flu and the recession has everyone sad&#8221; &#8211; but it&#8217;s hard to not be sad after you spend 15 minutes with <em>QBoy<\/em> &#8211; he has a way of putting a smile on your face&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><em>John Galea<\/em> &#8211; it has to be said&#8230;he was WAY better than anyone expected. \u00a0A little star is in the making with this one. \u00a0I can&#8217;t wait to bring him back to EQ to sing <em>&#8220;Trendsetter&#8221; <\/em>again.<\/li>\n<li><em>Tecnoctitlan<\/em> &#8211; Yes, I learned how to pronounce their name on the night. \u00a0I kinda have a little crush on keyboardist <em>Ariel<\/em> now &#8211; his hair is mesmerizing and I think I might have embarrassed him on stage when I mentioned that! \u00a0Their set was superb as well &#8211; they performed their stellar electronic track <em>&#8220;Be Togeda&#8221;<\/em> and <em>Nine Inch Nail&#8217;s<\/em> cover of <em>&#8220;Closer&#8221;<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><em>Saar &amp; Sky<\/em> &#8211; awesome set by an awesome up-and-coming band. \u00a0They are actually opening for <em>Heartbreak<\/em> this week in the same venue and I think I might just have to pop along to that to see them again!<\/li>\n<li><em>Tonic<\/em> &#8211; He had a great performance and showed off his new awesome dance moves. \u00a0In chatting with Tonic afterwards he told us that he considered EQ his first gig as the Live &amp; Unsigned competition really was a hardcore competition and he felt more relaxed playing to a crowd who were there just to discover new music.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our next EQ@Underbelly party will be on August 28th, so come on down if you missed this one &#8211; we&#8217;ll be open until 4am for the bank holiday weekend. \u00a0Already confirmed on the line-up and returning to perform at EQ are<em> The Good Natured<\/em> and <em>Cassette Electrik<\/em>. \u00a0There is a possibility that <em>Temposhark<\/em> and <em>The Gadsdens<\/em> will be headlining as well&#8230;fingers crossed&#8230;<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Get the flash player here: http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/flashplayer All pix courtesy of the lovely and talented Lubert Daz &#8211; I owe him many drinks!
