This is a 2 for 1. In the summer of 2010 my eyes, ears and body experienced the incredible magic of Big Gigantic. They are the future of electronic music! Since they appeared on the festival scene they have grown a handful of loyal fans who can’t get enough of their electro-funky shows. They have created an entire new sound in electronic music by combining live jazz elements into their songs. No samples! The first time I saw them live I could not control myself. It was unlike anything I had ever heard or seen.
One of the greatest things about Big Gigantic is they constantly release free music on their website. Last year their album “Nocturnal” pleased fans with high energy dance and dub beats. The album featured the timeless track “Fantastic” which starts with a bang and ends too soon. The song has a dramatic finish that is driven by melodic saxophone riffs overlapping an incredible electronic build up. Their modern production style creates a vibe everyone can get down to.
When they’re not blowing your mind on stage you can find them remixing songs by some of your favorite artists. Recently Big Gigantic turned the new dance-pop single “We are the Sun” by SAVOY & Heather Bright into a late night dubstep track. You can check out the Big Gigantic remix here. SAVOY & Heather Bright released the official video for the original “We are the Sun” a week ago. The feel good lyrics and high energy production can get any party started. The outrageous video is simply the icing on the cake.
