For quite some time, I’ve been captivated by the Franco-American art-pop duo Faux Real. Moreover, their unique blend of artistic expression and pop sensibilities has piqued my interest. And similarly, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to write about them on my blog. However, I’ve been patiently waiting for the perfect track to emerge and truly inspire me. Today, I’m thrilled to share with you that “Walking Away From My Demons” is the release that has finally captured my attention and has me genuinely excited about exploring and writing about Faux Real.

The dynamic duo, consisting of brothers Virgil and Eillot Arndt, are making waves in the creative arts scene with their captivating pop-infused style. Since their formation in 2018, they have been steadily amassing a cult-like following. Their unconventional approach to pop music sets them apart as innovative trailblazers, constantly pushing the boundaries and defying stereotypes. While delivering output which is revitalizing and thought-provoking in equal measure. Recently, the visionary Los Angeles-based duo dropped “Walking Away From My Demons,” the fourth single from their debut album “Faux Ever,” set for release on October 11, 2024, under City Slang.

Undoubtedly, Faux Real’s most recent release stands out as their most anthemic and compelling work to date. Throughout the verses are evocative glitchy electronic elements intertwine with captivating lyrical narratives that mesmerize the listener. The chorus sections, characterized by their exhilarating and propulsive electro-pop sound, demand attention and have an undeniable air-punching quality. The duo masterfully integrates these diverse musical styles with seamless ease, creating a truly immersive sonic experience for their audience. Beyond the music, their message reflects on society’s persistent fixation on progress and the implications of such an obsession.

“Ultimately, ‘Walking Away From My Demons’ reads as a glow-up,” says Faux Real. “One step at a time, away from negative patterns and into a gleaming paradise of confidence and ripping bass riffs.

The music video, directed and produced by Kristofski & Faux Real, is a captivating visual experience. It showcases angels in an urban landscape and skillfully integrates surreal elements. Meanwhile, their demonic counterparts traverse a desolate LA wasteland on Heelys™️, creating a striking contrast and eye-catching wonderment.

The recent non-stop European tour has solidified this track as a fan favourite, with a memorable performance at The Great Escape Festival. If you’re eager to experience Faux Real live, you’re in luck. They will return to Europe later this year to support their labelmates, the instrumental British quartet Los Bitchos. Catch them on dates throughout October and November HERE including the O2 Forum in London on November 7, 2024.
