The singer-songwriter is speaking out on behalf of the trans community with a most powerful song. It is a voice for all ages, fighting oppression and injustice, responding to President Trump’s transgender ban in the US military.
The lyrics impact with a message which is heartful and strong, you can feel the words crush down to emotions inside you wrenching your gut as the anthem steadily moves along. The lyrics have an esteemed merit all on their own. However, the concept of the video featuring actor August Aiden portraying the struggle of fitting into society is deeply moving on many levels.
“The Village” is passionate, powerful and politically minded but brave and necessary, even more.
