How much are we missing new music from Years & Years? It’s hard to believe that “Communion“, is two years old already isn’t it?

How about a track that sounds quite a bit like it was made by Years & Years to bridge the gap?

Those of you in the UK probably remember Marlon Roudette for his mega 2014 hit “When The Beat Drops Out“, because a lot of hype was made out of the fact, that he was the second musician to sign to Simon Cowell’s Syco label, that wasn’t a Britain’s Got TalentX Factor act. The track went on to rack up millions of streams across digital media. Unfortunately, even though moderately successful, I think the hype that circulated at the time didn’t necessarily do its job properly. Leaving Marlon better remembered in the UK as the son Cameron McVey and step-son of Neneh Cherry.

When Marlon Roudette’s name peeped up in my inbox a few days ago, I was intrigued to hear how his sound had developed if he was setting his sights on having another attempt at capturing the UK attention. There’s a big clue at the beginning of this review new single “Ultra Love“, sounds quite a bit like a Years & Years, especially in the chorus. Having said this, I like this song and for people like me who can’t wait for Olly, Emre and Mikey to give us something new, Marlon’s “Ultra Love“, isn’t second best, or a filler, it’s just as good. Could we at the very least just have a remix with Olly Alexander guesting on it? It so needs to happen.
