I’ll be honest — I briefly lost track of just how fast Déyyess has been rising. Since first featuring her as an Emerging Artist (notably on the track “Claire“), the alt-pop singer has evolved from a promising newcomer to one of the most emotionally resonant voices in UK queer pop. The arrival of “Would You Go Down On A Girl?” only reinforces that trajectory.
Fast forward to February 2026, and the deluxe edition arrives with additional material that deepens the emotional world of the project. The extended release adds two new tracks, including “Me, oh my” and “Silverlake Baby” — pushing the runtime to a concise but impactful seven-track experience.
Importantly, the EP didn’t just introduce stronger production and sharper songwriting — it also amplified Déyyess’ signature emotional lens. Across the project, she navigates: Girl crushes and emotional ambiguity. Heartbreak and unrequited love. Queer self-discovery and vulnerability
Crucially, the deluxe version doesn’t feel like an afterthought. Instead, it acts as a closing chapter to the era — expanding on the themes of fixation, yearning and emotional uncertainty already threaded through the original release.
In particular, “Silverlake Baby” stands out visually and narratively. The video’s black-and-white intimacy, punctuated with flashes of colour, mirrors the emotional duality in the lyrics — leaving viewers questioning whether the relationship being portrayed is memory, fantasy, or something in between.
Contextually, Déyyess arrives at a moment when queer storytelling in pop is enjoying unprecedented mainstream visibility. Artists like Chappell Roan and Conan Gray have helped push queer narratives into wider pop culture conversations. Moreover, helping to spark what many critics describe as a new queer pop renaissance.
While Déyyess occupies a softer, more introspective sonic lane, the emotional honesty and sapphic storytelling align with that wider cultural shift — particularly around rejecting traditional love-song narratives and centring queer emotional experiences instead.
As a result, fans drawn to emotionally open, queer-forward pop storytelling will find plenty to connect with here.
Equally important to her growth has been live exposure. During late 2025, Déyyess supported Alessi Rose across UK and European dates, helping introduce her intimate alt-pop sound to larger audiences.
Now, she’s stepping fully into her own headline era — with UK shows continuing to build fan momentum.
