With teases aplenty. The wait is now over. In his first release of the year, Australian pop singer-songwriter TIN leaves his inhibitions at the door. Thus far, we have seen TIN’s ability to change things up, each, and every time he drops off new music. In his latest offering, he brings us a hot and heavy, sexually charged bop. This single is the title track of the EP “Sex, Cologne & Cigarettes.” It’s a no-holds-barred anthem for the bedroom with a revealing story attached.
In the sensual electro-pop song (produced by Lostchild), TIN opens up about a one night stand. Written in the aftermath of the brief tyrst. With the lingering reminder, the aroma of “Sex, Cologne & Cigarettes,” present. The lyrics, paint a candid snapshot of the chance encounter. It is the music video that adds some serious weight to the song’s narrative. The Jordan Blanch (@jrbfilms) directed clip follows the events of the night as they unfold. A quiet evening out. A cheeky kiss with a sexy Chilean man. (Patricio Palma – @pato.for.real). Escalates to an ‘in the heat of the moment’ escapade. Filled with desire the hooked-up pair take their passion to the bedroom. While the camera continues to roll, the couple can be seen very into one another.
I need to say no more about this steamy homo-erotic clip. That said, I shall tease one last spoiler. Be ready for the steamy shower scene!
About the video TIN says,
“I knew I wanted this song to be hot and heavy. So, I committed to shooting a nude scene as my goal to help me lose my COVID weight.”
The allure around this release is that it is, intimate, tender and slightly voyeuristic. Although the biggest take away is undoubtedly, TIN makes strides for authentic queer representation in pop music. Helping to redefine LGBTQ visibility in pop. The unfiltered and provocative music video fosters realism and nudges the needle forward.
TIN’s new EP “Sex, Cologne & Cigarettes” is about his misadventures of being a heartbreaking party boy. And the title says it all.
