Sade-soldier-of-love-single

You know, I adore Sade.  I'm not jumping up and down about her new album quite just yet, but when it drops, it will be something that I will most certainly listen to.  Her new single "Soldier Of Love" doesn't quite reach out and grab me, but it's alright and I'm hoping that the album will be more than stellar.

I've often turned to Sade's music in times that I need a certain calm in my life.  When everything gets a little rough, there is a certain soothing factor in her greatest hits like "The Sweetest Taboo" and "Smooth Operator" that can wash over you like a wave of zen.

In promotion of the upcoming album and single, Sade has sent us her new "Sizzle Reel" which is a very cool video retrospective of her career.  There is an absolutely spot-on random YouTube user quote about her that really sums up the respect she garners in the business and I just have to share it with you:

"At 51, she can still get it. this is what happens when you're not ghetto-ized by the american music industry."

I also found this quote quite epic from Sade as well – where she comments on her music and the reason she is not churning out albums every other year…

“I only make records when I feel I have something to say. I'm not interested in releasing music just for the sake of selling something. Sade is not a brand.”

True story – my fabulous roomate Holly bumped into Sade once at a local fish n chips shop in Shepherds Bush.  Believe it or not, Sade is a real person…enjoy the "sizzle reel".
