This is the last track I am plucking from my 2020 pile of submissions. Multi-continental indie-pop band Night Lights with their buzzy, powerful track “Revolution.” Nothing says making change, with a louder voice than starting a revolution. The act of sudden, radical, or complete change, as defined by my dictionary. The LA residing trio says, of the track…

Revolution” is a song about unity. It’s a song about change and accountability! We wrote it as an anthem for what’s to come, and we think it’s a good thing. So here’s to hoping, revolution inspires you to be bold and be kind and to press on!”

I have known January to be a slow month for music releases. Sometimes it offers up very few jolly bops. January 2020 was an exception, there were some cool releases. I am hopeful that the music world will kick some butt and get back on this hot trend for 2021 within a day or so. I’d be surprised if New Music Friday gave us some rich pickings for a week or so. The possibilities are therefore pot-luck, or that a thoughtful music artist may have saved up a bona fide banger to wake us up. If neither happens. The Night Lights have got our backs with “Revolution.”

I have been loving how in-your-face the vibe is on this track. It really does feel like Night Lights have harnessed the power of a rock song and made it work with the melodic groove of a pop track. Anyways it was this musical combination which made the group stand out among the less edgy competition who said hello to my inbox in recent weeks. The music video directed by Nathan Tecson is just as, cathartic. I have no reservations saying. A watch or a listen to “Revolution,” could be the spark which ignites the fire in your belly, needed when confronting the first day back at work.
