Italian pop star Alex Palmieri doesn’t do things in half measures he puts his heart and soul and more into his music creations. He is a seasoned performer now, having released a respectable number of records since 2011 (we covered “Nicholas Got A Secret“, “Maniac“, “Wasted“) and, he always works with an electronic pop vibe. Another thing Alex is quite renowned for is, featuring grand Italian buildings in his music videos. True to form the action-packed story which comes together as support for new single “But Nobody Knows” fairs, no different.
On the new track, there is a noticeable shift in gear. Maybe Alex has been delving into his record collection for influence and inspiration because the song does sound incredibly similar in melody and rhythm to Justin Timberlake’s material on his acclaimed sophomore album “FutureSex/LoveSounds“. Another thing the Italian singer has in common with Justin Timberlake is bringing a big old dance routine to fruition in his music videos. For drama steered “But Nobody Knows“, he uses dance in a lavish, and an extensive way that we are, drawn into the intensity, of the moody screenplay.
It is an interesting, video and has some big dance, content but also tells a story, which isn’t quite so straightforward and has a twist, in its tale. Alex is prepping the release of his next album, following in 2018. I tend to think he is setting the foundation with “But Nobody Knows” and he’ll show more his R&B versatility peeking through on the forthcoming long player.
