Remember Oh Land? She blew up the digital pages of EQ Music Blog a few years ago with her self-titled debut album which included stellar tracks like “Sun Of A Gun”, “Wolf & I” and “We Turn It Up”.
Well, girlfriend is back and this time, she’s rapping. And it’s quite good.
Watch the fun video for her new single “My Boxer” and I think you’ll find that Oh Land has completely re-invented her sound on this track which I welcome with open arms and a curious ear. Her new album “Wish Bone” is also going to be sprung on us this fall in October too. Total bonus!
For all the details of Oh Land’s new era with “Wish Bone”, make sure you read the press release below…
From the press release…
Danish alterna-pop chanteuse Oh Land, a.k.a. Nanna Øland Fabricius, is gearing up for the release of her highly-anticipated second album Wish Bone. Due out early October, the album will be released via Federal Prism, the new label launched by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek . Featuring her distinctive brand of left-field pop, Wish Bone includes collaborations with Sia and Dave Sitek. Earlier this month SPIN in the US exclusively streamed a taster track from the new album, titled ‘My Boxer’ asserting it “a slinky banger, which bobs and weaves with jabbing percussion, glitch electronics and a dangerously hummable melody.”
Wish Bone is the long-awaited follow up to Oh Land’s 2011 self-titled album that garnered overwhelming critical acclaim. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for an announcement about Oh Land’s forthcoming single ‘Renaissance Girls’.
