Bjork

Sometimes the term “artist” is used oh so flippantly when applied to music. Sure there are creators and there are innovators and then out-shining them all is Björk, ice queen of alternative and experimental innovation.

The precision of Björks works are never in doubt, everything that she paints onto her vocally expressive canvas has reason and purpose behind it. This was one of the factors that made the rush release of latest album “Vulnicura” so especially crushing, when it was leaked before its time.

Although the heart wrenching body of work is with us digitally already, the physical release remains but a few days away. So as was probably intended from the out-set the first real promotional push begins, with the servicing of visual for “Lionsong”.

A song standing tall amongst the mountain of devastating heartache explored in “Vulnicura”. “Lionsong” acknowledges the stinging realisation of a fractious divide manifesting between a partnership with the ensuing questioning of oneself as to arrive at an outcome of some definite conclusion.

Lionsong” is as tormented as it is beautifully fragile.

As an exponent of multi-media packages Björk along with creative collaborators Inez & Vinoodh present an aesthetically strong visual as viewed from Björks bruised and distressed heart leading outwards from the wounds into an otherworldly ether of fate and destiny aligned within Björks own spidery ensnaring cosmos.
