Yes, I am making a fuss over Olivia Sebastianelli’s “Lighting Fires” again! With very good cause too, since I could more than easily shout out from the rooftops just how much I rate this song in all of its future smash–hit making potential. Owing to the fact that it has been completely stuck up in my head for the past three weeks long, ever since I first heard it.
This will all tell you one of two things, of which I’ve already said about it, these being:- what a powerfully engaging song it is and also that Olivia Sebastianelli is to be considered quite the triple threat!
There are some songs you have that overwhelming instinct about them going BIG, for me “Lighting Fires” comes in, totally that!
The beauty in this pop ballad shines out, and even though it may play to an all consuming love theme, you’ll find it not to be overly sentimental, just really, really touching and thoroughly heart-melting. I know for sure, whoever Olivia wrote these lyrics about should consider themselves the luckiest on earth, because in my capacity as a third-party listener in this, I am massively gunning for this prospective romance to take off. As can’t help but feel the passion in it all. Actually though, it doesn’t have to represent a person to person relationship, it could equally translate as being passionate in your work, your creativeness, whatever. That’s what it is really, you can feel a real passion behind everything, of every word and what’s more you now it to be real.
The visual is now out and Olivia has made sure she has our undivided attention by having the focus cannily placed on her lovely self at all times, braving it on a one take video shoot format. It’s highly suggestive that its storyline is a nod autobiographical of Olivia’s journey in music documenting her decision to walk away from her former record deal, owing to her gut instinct telling her it wasn’t the right way to go.
The differentiation between being considered an artiste as compared to a singer, is someone who knows their own mind. Olivia surely does, and I have no reservations that in the long run it will pay out the bigger dividends.
