London based production trio Disciples came to everyone’s attention in the summer of 2015 for their part on the Calvin Harris track “How Deep Is Your Love“, alongside guest vocalist Ina Wroldsen. The deep-house song went on to be one of the most streamed tracks of the year and achieved global success making the top ten in twenty-two countries. The trio has since returned to their DJ roles but, have continued to release tracks which show their versatility as producers. Earlier this year with “On My Mind“, Disciples switched their attention to releasing more commercially viable material again, which they now follow-up with a new single “Jealousy“, and an announcement of their debut live show headlining London’s famous KOKO venue on Thursday 22nd February 2018.

I don’t know what Disciples brief is when going into the studio to create their hot dance indebted stompers, although, I’d hazard a guess it’s something along the lines of, bringing together their unique brand of pop music and deliver it with infectious and emotive dance songs.

On “Jealousy“, the FFRR label signees appear to have another potential chart hit on their hands. The track is sleek, smouldering with house styled club beats and just goes to prove the ability of the group to write strong original material. The deep melodic style is a superb fit for club/mainstream cross-over success. The supporting video is bit too club circuit orientated though, starring a pretty girl playing the love interest who the band members keep a close watch over as their obsession with her begins to take hold. The clip is reflective of the lyrics but doesn’t feel original. When Disciples bring the originality of their videos on par with the music, they will no longer be merely seen, as the band who had a chart-topping hit with Calvin Harris.
