Its safe to say new pop queen Dua Lipa has pretty much released every track on her self-titled debut album as a single. “IDGAF” is the latest song to be pushed forward under the spotlight as the singing sensation continues an incredible run of successfully charting singles on the official pop chart rundowns, globally. But, hang on a hot minute, it’s Awards season approaching, meaning it would be a very, good time for Dua to put a new single out, keep her in the public eye and pull in the votes to victory. On Saturday it was announced, the singer is nominated for five, Brit Award categories:- Mastercard British Album Of The Year, British Breakthrough Act, British Female, British Single, British Video (British video, is a public vote so, make sure you tweet #BRITVIDDUALIPA for “New Rules”, to make it your favourite music video of 2017.)
Dua has her game face on for this empowerment anthem release “IDGAF“, by the very, sparky nature of the song co-written by Dua, MNEK, Larzz Principato, Skyler Stonestreet and Whiskey Waters. Punchy beats and a snappy, rhythmic melody assist delivering the bold, message of taking no shady treatment from your relationship partner raised in the song. The music video directed by Henry Scholfield in collaboration with Stromae features duelling Dua Lipa’s representing her softer side in a battle with a cold, empowered alter ego. The slick choreography is highly engaging and inches the singer further forward at the fore of female fronted pop music. Her look and styling have improved a lot since her early photo shoots, she’s grown, into the role of pop queen proper, right before our very, own eyes. Bravo’s all round for Dua and hopefully a few Brits Awards trophies will seal it on the 21st February.
