Peking Duk

Australian Aria scooping electronic production duo Peking Duk have plans to infiltrate the UK music waves with their recently plaudited, award winning best dance release “High”.

The Canberra duo of Adam Hyde and Rueben Styles noted for their electrifying live sets made up of the indie-electro persuasion joined forces with emerging singer/songwriter Nicole Millar, whose ethereally typified vocals are quite finding themselves a firm footing as an enchanting choice of collaborator within the currently flourishing Australian EDM scene.

Far be it for us to say we feel it could be the case that Peking Duk might look up to leading Australian electronic twosome Empire Of The Sun a little bit, since they both have a fancy for making dreamy electronic dance music whilst featuring highly customised dressing up in their videos. Well at least, it is the case that it applies in the instance of “High”.

Each to their own and as the video reveals, I can connect with the desire to take leave of the business powered rat-race and seek refuge in a more calming natural environment, but to go furry oneself up like an animal when you’re well over the childhood threshold, even in a dreamy evoked video not so. Appreciate the nature around you by all means, be at one with it, go hug a tree.

I’m not so sure this might break Peking Duk into the UK with so much of any instancy, but I do consider they may find themselves with a sleeper hit on their hands all the same.
