The clues were there right from the beginning. As detailed in the DIY, fantasy styled videos for “Bullying Boys“, “Valentine” and “Angel Energy” newcomer Raissa will soon release her debut EP, “HEROGIRL.” The London based artist who recently signed with Mark Ronson label Zelig Records and hopped on the renowned producer’s track “I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight.” Is taking a leap forward with the synth-spangled track, “Go Fast Baby.

Her sweetly executed vocals are so heavenly and otherworldly (nothing, unusual as what we’ve heard from Raissa before.) A spot of polish comes from Two Inch Punch (producer Ben Ash (Jessie Ware, Sam Smith, Years & Years)) and slick video direction from UK-based duo bedroom (beabadoobee, The 1975.) The big names are queued up to work with Raissa. She does have that air of pop star about her, being quite cute like a pocket-sized doll. Imagine if she really was a dolly and how a young child would live out fanciful adventures. This is the aesthetic Raissa is achieving with “Go Fast Baby” video. It doesn’t take much to scratch past the sweet and see the dark forces she avenges with a little of their own medicine.

“I want people to feel big like they take up space. That’s a good thing. It’s about big feelings and defining yourself by what you like and what excites you, about becoming your own hero and everyone can do that. You are not an inconvenience. There’s room for you at the hero table,” Raissa says. “On “GO FAST BABY,” I’m talking directly to the people who were shitty to me and held me back from reaching my potential. I’m telling them, ‘I’m out of here and you can’t stop me, I’m so far beyond where you thought I would be.’”

Empowering and an angel. Can’t wait to see the “HEROGIRL” merchandise when Raissa set’s up, shop. I bet the t-shirts will be as cute as fuck.
