Other than a new album release from Rihanna or the hype around when we get the next Lady Gaga album. Is there anything more anticipated in the world of music releases than the reigning Eurovision Song Contest winner’s follow-up track, I wonder? This year in Malmo, Sweden, it was the turn of Switzerland to claim victory with Nemo introducing the world to a splendidly eclectic, alt-pop offering “The Code.” Namely, the song stood out because of being a masterfully unique fusion of hip-hop and opera. Furthermore, the awe-inspiring stage performance Nemo gave, while perched and balancing on a titled, spinning disc. Simply no other performer in the competition could come near to match.
Soon after the win, Nemo announced dates on the Break The Code Europe tour for 2025. Yet similarly, Eurovision and Nemo fans alike were left on tenterhooks awaiting the arrival of a new song before the tour kicks off. Although it is quite usual there is a long wait before a follow-up track drops. Nemo powered through with the new track “Eurostar.” That arrives before the search for the hopeful representatives of the 2025 Eurovision preliminary heats begin in earnest.
“The Code” is undeniably iconic. Therefore, interest in new Nemo songs is still at a peak and further expectations run high. However, erring on the side of caution, the Eurovision theme runs through the veins of this new release.
“Eurostar“, a song, a feeling, a reflection on my life over the last five months,” Nemo writes about the song on his Instagram account, further adding “It all started by taking the Eurostar from Paris to London in July. Little did I know what this city had in store”…
The lyrics enlighten, how Nemo fully immersed themselves in the clubbing scene in the UK Capital. Living for the moment and not wasting a second. What’s more in the accompanying Ruy Okamara directed-music video, they have brought along some pals from Eurovision along for the ride. Bambie Thug, Silvester Belt, Windows 95 Man, Luna and Jerry Heil. They join Nemo in a mayhem-filled caper of embracing London nightlife and clubbing indulgence.
