Former Disney starlet Selena Gomez has just shown the world she is no longer the little girl they were used to seeing on Wizards of Waverly Place. In her new music video supporting “Come & Get It“, the Indian-inspired lead single from her upcoming debut album, Stars Dance, Gomez pulls a Britney Spears, telling her fans and critics she is not a girl, but not yet a woman.

Opening in a field of bright blue flowers, surrounded by nature and evoking the elements of earth, wind, fire and water, the visually-stunning five-minute video has the singer/actress twirling around in beautiful dresses and partaking in a Bollywood-inspired choreographed routine with a number of backup dancers. Gomez is seen staring seductively into the camera while floating in a body of water and kissing a rugged-looking older man who does look anything like Mr. Justin Bieber.

The new music video is certainly a treat for the eyes, even if it does look somewhat similar to Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been“. Gorgeous shots of the environment and a grown up Gomez dominate the visual. While the artist’s new effort may be a more mature representation of her image, she is not pulling a Spears by having a sweaty dance party with numerous men and women in the middle of the blistering heat. She is growing up, and “Come & Get It” seems like an honest and toned down representation of that growth and maturity.
