If you have not heard of Sumera then you will in 2013. The single, “Bright Lies” has critics talking and crowds dancing. Her strong pop vocals over well produced dance beats has earned her a promising spot in the electropop scene. Since the release of her debut EP “Stop Heart,” Sumera has supported popular pop act Marina and the Diamonds on tour. By the end of last year Sumera was voted Serious Talent by Dutch radio 3FM.
What an entrance!
At first listen the production for “Bright Lies” sounds like something out of Robyn’s vault. While both artists are not afraid to embrace heartache with a killer dance tune, there is something that sets Sumera apart. Perhaps it is her gentle approach that helps her connect to broken hearts at any stage in life. “Stop Heart” is a great collection of entry level pop tunes. I look forward to a full length album after her time spent on the road with producer Bart Constant. I can only imagine what will come next.
