Lately, It’s beginning to feel like the early days of music blogging for me. The reason I am feeling this way is namely, down to The Knocks. The New York-based production duo who I featured regularly on the blog as they began establishing themselves as ones to watch. Only now, presently the duo is much sought after, and their collaborations have only become hotter. (Such as the latest collaboration with Yelle.) These are especially in ways that align with my music taste and their collaboration, with artists I similarly enjoy. Most recently, musical duo Sofi Tukker and alt-pop band Dolores Forever have teamed with The Knocks. The tracks equally leap out because of the combinations of impeccable production and The Knocks’ knack for bringing out the best in their vocalist’s performances.

With the new release “All The Time / Tout Le Temps,” I again have JPatt and B-Roc to thank for blessing my ears with new Yelle music. The super cool French electro-pop band hasn’t been as musically productive in a while. But with the collaboration on “All The Time / Tout Le Temps” out. Also, following Yelle’s musical theme song contribution to the Max, Discovery+ and Eurosport Channels broadcast coverage of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. Yelle is simultaneously been brought into the spotlight once more.

Listen on Apple Music

“Their (Yelle) songs were serious staples for us as DJs coming up in downtown Manhattan. One time they came by our studio in Chinatown almost 10 years ago and we made a track we never finished, but years later we finally reconnected for this new song and it feels like the perfect combination of our 2 styles.” The Knocks add.

Since listening to this song, I am reminded just how magnifique Yelle’s stylish left-field electro-pop is. And that evidently when collaborating with The Knocks, equally both these projects bring out the best in each other. Similarly in the Jean-François Perrier & Nicolas Pradeau directed and edited music video Yelle’s Julie Budet is a vision of a la mode chic. However, I feel it a shame the main background of the visual is red and not lime green. I also hope that I am not alone in noticing how the lyrics appear somewhat BRAT-coded. Am I right?…
