Since I did not notice nor receive any Bonfire night-related tracks this week. I thought it was fitting that I ended my blogging week with a banger. As in the shape of a dance-pop release instead. These do not come much bigger than that of superstar DJ and producer Tiësto who links up with artist-on-the-rise and pop phenomenon Tate McRae for the track “10:35“. Unleashed for our listening pleasure slightly ahead of the pack of the usual avalanche of New Music Friday releases.
As far back as I can recall. Tiësto has crossed over into pop and shows respect for the genre. He ensures the die-hards have their fix of thumpa, thumpa beats. Yet, he also branches out while maintaining something of diversity within his productions. It is not unusual that he teams with emerging artists. Those considered hot pop propositions. In actuality. He does this quite a lot. Having released her debut album, “i used to think i could fly,” this year. Tate McRae fits the brief and is pretty much considered one of the break-out pop stars of the moment.
As a DJ that frequently travels all over the globe. Tiësto is somewhat accustomed to a jet-set lifestyle. Should he seize the opportunity to work in partnership with a brand. The elite names queue up to get him onboard. To be specific. The track “10:35“ celebrates the opening of Dubai’s newest and most luxurious resort, Atlantis The Royal. A place of decadence and at the height of grandiosity.
The DJ/ producer honed in on the duality of the daytime experience of luxury vs the nighttime spirit of possibility and excitement. This juxtaposition fueled the idea for the time when day turns to night and that experience shifts – hence, “10:35.”
And of the music video… should come as no surprise. The clip is shot at Atlantis The Royal. As Tate mingles with the sculptures and magnificent art installations. The singer and the DJ, with their collaborative track and sneak, peek look at the resort (opening 2023). Is for sure a distinctive way of promoting this iconic property.
