This week’s TUNE OF THE WEEK is ‘Tell You (Today)’ by Robyn brought to you by Johnny Kalifornia of This Is Electric.

More new Robyn – this time around, a track featured on the latest Red Hot album project, ‘Red Hot + Arthur Russell’, released in October. ‘Tell You (Today)’ is a bold, brassy disco record, replete with bells and whistles – worlds apart from Robyn’s signature electronic sound, but her vocals never fail to draw you in, regardless.

‘Red Hot + Arthur Russell’ pays tribute to the titular cellist-composer-electronic pioneer who who was a huge part of New York’s music scene in the 70s and 80s, and died in 1992, aged 40, of AIDS-related causes. Artists on the album include Hot Chip, Jose Gonzalez, Scissor Sisters and Blood Orange, who provide their own spin on Arthur’s music.

Looking ahead for Robyn, she recently revealed there’s an EP of music recorded with the late Christian Falk being prepped for release, so perhaps we’re looking at 2015 for the long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s immense ‘Body Talk’?
