This week’s TUNE OF THE WEEK is ‘Do It Again’ (The Penelopes Remix) by The Ting Tings brought to you by Johnny Kalifornia of This Is Electric.

The Ting Tings had somewhat of a sophomore slump with their last album, but are quietly clawing back their reputation in 2014, first with ‘Wrong Club’ and now their latest offering, ‘Do It Again’. The track shines brightest in this Penelopes remix whose throbbing synth bassline and disco stabs takes us back to the Hi-NRG dancefloors of the early 80s. Remix-wise, the Penelopes can seem to do no wrong at the moment, with a string of triumphant re-works in the last year for the likes of the Cure, Lana Del Rey and Pet Shop Boys. Fingers crossed, the Ting Tings will continue their upward trajectory on forthcoming third album, ‘Super Critical’. Super-critical, indeed…
