It’s only been a few weeks since Tove Lo seduced us with the sensual, hypnotic allure of “Des Fleurs. However,” she’s already inviting us deeper into the world of her forthcoming album “Estrus”, arriving September 18. With the album now little more than a month away—and the accompanying “Estrus” tour about to kick off—Tove keeps the momentum flowing with another captivating preview, “DNH” (unabbreviated: “Drunk and Horny”).
Without question, this is Tove Lo operating firmly in her electro-dance-pop sweet spot. “DNH” wraps dark, pulsating production around one of her most unfiltered lyrical concepts yet. Thus proving once again that she’s unrivalled when it comes to turning messy human experiences into irresistible pop.
Rather than romanticising chaos, Tove paints a painfully relatable portrait of friendship tested by one alcohol-fuelled night out. It’s witty, brutally honest and surprisingly emotional all at once. “DNH” captures the complicated loyalty that exists between lifelong friends even when they’re driving each other to distraction.

Those lyrics hit because they feel lived-in rather than manufactured. That’s always been one of Tove Lo’s greatest strengths—her willingness to expose vulnerability without filtering out the uncomfortable parts. Pair that honesty with the striking visual identity she is building around the “Estrus” era, and everything feels cohesive, confident and unmistakably bold.
Personally, I’m delighted to see Tove flourishing independently after stepping away from the traditional label system. Creative freedom looks incredible on her. When artists trust their instincts instead of chasing expectations, that’s often when their most compelling work emerges, and everything we’ve heard from “Estrus” so far points towards one of her most creatively liberated projects to date.
Tove Lo will celebrate the album with a run of special release shows across North America beginning in Nashville on September 15, before heading to Brooklyn and additional cities. The excitement then shifts to the UK and Europe, where she’ll perform her biggest headline shows to date. Support comes from Mallrat across the North American dates.
