Having recently had the pleasure of premiering the video of debut single “Back To My Youth” by exceptional newcomer Billy Cullum, it’s again, a pleasure to hear his strikingly commanding vocals touch down upon another track as our attention has been momentarily diverted to a cover interpretation Billy has put out of David Guetta and Sia’s floorfiller “Titanium”.
With the might of Billy’s vocals on full spotlight “Titanium” is delivered in full gripping power ballad splendour, swoonful and dramatic and in truth, find definitively stylised not too unlike the similar alluring appeal of Will Young. Infact, it was a comparison that instantaneously sprung to mind as the opening bars struck up and the chills of realisation that Billy Cullum really does have something rather especially show stopping about him.
I have already described Billy as a “star of the future” which is further cemented by the fine calibre of this impassioned delivery of a stripped back cover that leaves little doubt in my mind that Billy Cullum is destined for the big time.
