Taylor swift

By Javi Lopez

Hello EQs all over the world. And Narnia. As you surely know, Taylor Swift's new album is OUT now and already slaying everybody in the charts. Taylor has come back snatching every wig, and no ratchet is safe. Mascara running down all over their faces describes it all. Yes.

Spent the week listening to the album, trying to figure out the songs and how to express it to you guys.

Here is what I think:

The album opens with State of Grace which didn't get my attention until patiently listened to the lyrics – As an album-opener, I was expecting more of an upbeat song such as 'I Knew You Were Trouble', But really though – this song makes it perfectly for the album. Guitar, background vocals and lyric-wise is perfect. The song speaks for itself, it's about falling in love and that amazing feeling of knowing that everything is finally going to work out. and following up on being in love, RED is telling the boy of your dreams how much you love him; how hard, impossible and stupid is the idea to forget him; how emotional and peaceful is to remember him. Red is that song you want to sing to the one that is everything you ever wished for.

We go down on matter of beats, and go back to the guitar with Treacherous and All Too Well as they're songs that now gets you to Taylor's most vulnerable side – She knows she is getting in danger, she knows she likes him.. the love is treacherous, and she will follow him no matter what as she likes him now. And when it comes to ATW, it's clearly about a relationship she can't forget.

and now it's time to jam with I Knew You Were Trouble – one of the album's most strongest song. Single material, radio-blower and chart slayer. This song goes now in a different direction on the album, as it is dubstep-dipped, electro-queerly catchy. Which reminds me that 22 is also as good as IKYWT, with all the compliments I said previously. Produced-wise, different. Eargasmic-wise – both perfect.

And when you thought 'where is the song that I am going to cry my soul out at night until I fall asleep'? well, I Almost Do is all about trying to protect yourself from the guy you are madly in love with; wishing he wonders about you at night, when you are thinking about him – but it's just impossible to be back. All these feelings, along with Taylor singing her soul out with the guitar will keep you through the night.

the cheessy mess that We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is, we could tell that Taylor is not being the little crying girl we have all know (by previous albums). SHE IS NEVER EVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER WITH HIM, Y'ALL. Finally. The single is *that* song you are waiting for to be played on the radio while your are in the car with your girlfriends and… ¡BAM! There it is and you scream, and can't deal with the situation, and you pee. In other words: I love the song.

Stay Stay Stay is the morning song you need to get into the best mood. Its catchy way of making you feel that you want to be with this guy, that makes you feel like nobody else does – you just go around the house shaking your little butt asking him to stay with you. I LOVE IT.

The last time Feat. Gary Lightbody takes everything from me. Is the perfect acoustic song you want to lose your voice to. Taylor and Gary's voice match so perfectly, its ridiculous. It is probably one of my favorite off the acoustic songs with Sad Beautiful Tragic, as she really takes it to a new level. Although her collaborations on this album are big hits… It's this one that really blows shit up. She's never done a song like this before, and she has done it well, mature, restrained. And the vocals are so controlled. Can't get this out of my head. Its mood is irresistibly sad and lovely.

Finally, Beging Again is probably about Taylor being insecure in love again? The line "I've been spending the last 8 months thinking all love ever does is break and burn.." might be the answer. Or Taylor being insecure wearing heels and her boy not liking it. Begin Again can be the song you want to listen to at night when you feel all you wanna do is think about *him*.

Needless to say – The album is a rollercoaster of emotions. What I have experienced while writing this post; my keyboard covered in tears, danced my ass off for a bit and sighed all the way through every song. RED is my favorite Taylor Swift album? yes. Should you download it? Yes. 8/10
