Night Drive co-founders Rodney Connell and Brandon Duhon met after a young woman they were both unknowingly dating was killed in a car crash. Instead of letting their heartache of losing the one they both loved and knowing she was with another man get to their core, the two began to bond into what would become one of Texas’ greatest synth-pop secrets. UNTIL NOW.

Consider this moment an EMERGING ARTIST ALERT!

Autumn of 2013, the band would drop their first EP ‘Positions I,’ a dark and raw, electro exploration into the synth-pop world. Through a new-wave throwback sound and a reach into a dark lyrical realm. In less than one year since the release of their debut single ‘Drones’, Night Drive would quickly grab the attention of electro connoisseurs by joining international acts like Tesla Boy, Gold Fields and Jupiter on tour.

In 2015, Night Drive released their most recent single/video ‘Easy to Lie’ showcasing a big boost to the world market with a premiere on Spin. With an unmatched sci-fi cinematic experience unfolding right before your eyes, The song brings a story of an end of a crappy relationship. With the repletion of the lyric “Maybe tonight, there will be no more, maybe after tonight we’ll close the door” standing out so clearly. you become quickly immersed into the emotional power that the band possesses.  It was only a small glimpse of what you get when you’re dancing with Night Drive.

Described as two secret agents sent to re-calibrate the future of electro pop, we had to send our very own Raj to uncover their mission while he was at SXSW.

With very raw electro power, depth strong enough to be something very great, quite the Billy Idol-esque stage presence from lead singer Rodney. This won’t be the last time you’ll see Night Drive on EQ Music Blog!
