Emerging dark wave trio Strangers take the reigns on their debut single “Something New” on brand new label Just Off Pop by straddling a strident line of sweepingly poignant melodies and pristine production work collaborated with Little Boots and Goldfrapp producer Dimitri Tikovoi.
After 3 EP releases last year Strangers have now fine-tuned their melancholy wares, coming into their own on “Something New” with their sonic synth noir moodiness tilted into the pop realm by vocalist David Maddox-Jones valiantly lamenting vocal outlook and backed up by the feature vocals of Crystal Fighters Eleanor Fletcher.
Strangers emerge like a result of Professor synth pop’s test-tube baby laboratory experiment extracting qualities from Hurts, Imagine Dragons and Delphic.
