HOTFUSS

Poptronik takes a scoot of the web and brings you the buzz on all things deemed HOT FUSS.  With a little difference maybe, but definitely cool as!

This weeks HOT FUSS FIVE:

London based trio Is Tropical emerged onto the music scene with a surf pop song “South Pacific” back end of last year, but it was the follow up “The Greeks” that heralded massive media attention through it’s controversial video.  Next to drop is “Lies” a synth heavy indie dance tune courting another eye popping video full of sassiness and fleshy bits, infact we have come across a lot of fleshy bits popping up in pop music videos this week.  WATCHIs Tropical – “Lies”  HERE

As Westlife announce they feel a little washed out and need a rest, there’s new Irish Boy Band blood to keep an eye on. R’n’B pop four-some Boulevard who put out a buzz track “Perfect Getaway” a few months back are set to release debut song “100 Times”.  Although, primarily marketed for the Irish audience at the moment, it is also available to pre-order via UK itunes.  We think they’ll go down a storm with the home crowd, having great potential to cross over here and go global.   LISTEN TO: Boulevard – "100 Times"  preview HERE

Taking a step back from all the  bam bam out there. London Duo Muchuu just released their sophomore LP “On Beyond” – full of enchanting twinkling synth pop melodies, and soothingly ambient vocals. This is a real retreat of escapism into an oasis of gentle melancholy electronica on par with EQ fav’s Bim. Listen to track “Heart In Turn” especially and you’ll definitely get what we’re talking about.  LISTEN TO: Muchuu – “On Beyond”  HERE

Retro steeped Chantuesse Lana Del Rey is an intriguing artist, whose earthy style has captured a wave of interest – add Jamie Woon into the frame on the remix and you just know she is HOT as, don’t you! As do 11,000 others that have now given this a listen over the past 48 hours. It is Brilliant – FACTLISTEN TO: Lana Del Rey – Video GamesJamie Woon RemixHERE

Having already caught our ear with some dancetastic remixes of The Knocks and Ellie Goulding. New York Producer and DJ Dave Edwards debut’s his first EP of original material “The World Is Ours”.  You should watch out for this guy as Dave’s ability to compose insanely catchy dance pop tunes is a total win on our ears, and a few bars of Dave’s beats instantly brings on a beaming smile as big as Chesire.
