Operator-please

One of the most interesting new bands that I've had my eye on for awhile is Austrailan band – Operator Please.  Their new single "Back & Forth" comes out today in way of FREE DOWNLOAD and the music video is trip back to the future where we see this modern day punky pop band take over a 1950's-esque Lawrence Welch stage and drench themselves in a pastel fantasia.  I'm really loving the video and the song is uber catchy.

I asked lead singer Amandah of Operator Please to tell us a little bit about the video and song and here is what she had to say…

"Back & Forth is probably one of the girliest tracks I have to date. By girly I mean vulnerable lyrically. I'm used to disguising emotion and being metaphorical rather than direct but this time around I decided it was time to strip a little bit of that away. So with the video we wanted the aesthetic to be quite pageantry with softer tones and pastel colours. I think the look of the video and the vibrance is contrasted by the chilled out performance. We didn't want to overdo both aspects of a video. By matching the aesthetic of the video to the instrumentation of the track we were able to keep the emotion and lyrical content quite chilled in comparison."

Very cool – let's take a look at the video shall we…

If you liked the song and video, check out some of the behind the scenes footage too after the jump!
