Chris-sorbello

Aussie Chris Sorbello is making her debut with her new video to "So Lonely" that just hit the web recently.  She's working the whole "Little Boots-but-more-minimalistic" angle here and I quite like what she's done here.

I caught up with Chris recently to ask her about the meaning of the track and this is what she had to say…

"I like to write songs by peering through a looking glass into the lives of other people. It allows me to see things from more points of views than my own and float away into another world. Make believe, you could say. "So Lonely", has a beautiful darkness about it. It's the magical love we have all experienced at some point or another… the roses, the chocolates, the late night 'I love yous'… We've all been there, but in this story, something sours and the shine wears off. Rather than write an angry song that professed anarchy on love I wanted to capture the contrast between the then and the now.

My friends will be the first to tell you how much I love the 'shiny' part of relationships, so it was easy and a little self indulgent at times to write and record this song in the studio. It literally fell out of our mouths. For me, straddling that mood of being both sad and uplifting is almost an addiction with my music. I really think it's possible to feel both of those emotions at the same time and like articulating that."

Let's take a look at the video then – thanks to Mike W for the heads-up!
