The more than pleasant summery weather may be baking hot outside. Although, there is no opportunity for me to take a siesta. Years & Years are keeping me on my toes, rapidly unleashing a succession of teasers from upcoming album “Palo Santo.” Quite frankly I wouldn’t wish it any other way for the electronic-pop trio as the album is among my most hotly anticipated long player releases of the year. Just a matter of days ago, amid their North American tour and performance at New York’s Pride festival the band issued the sophomore album’s spine-tingling title track. Not allowing the dust to settle for even so much as a week, new single “All For You” arrives in its wake.

It was the briefest, of pared backed interludes. Going from a heartstring-tugging pop ballad with lush and emotive piano motifs, we are back in with the bona fide bops as “All For You” emerges. In truth Years & Years haven’t had us in a spin like this since stand-alone single “Meteorite“, the track which the band penned for the soundtrack to the 2016 movie Bridget Jones’s Baby. There is no question the band’s intention, is to have their fans dancing in the aisles to this one.

The lyrics reveal the song is again, a bittersweet one about a relationship that didn’t work out. Being lucky in love doesn’t seem to have come easy for Olly, turning the dating turmoil into a groovy song, is altogether another matter. It works out, resplendently so time and time again for the band. Not least in regard, to “All For You.”
