Not so long ago, in introduction to his upcoming “Cinematography” EP, Bright Light Bright Light hit us with a delightful fizzy re-work of Michael Sembello’s “Maniac” from the movie “Flashdance”
As the 25th November release date nears, the Welsh synth-pop whiz pulls out another taster track in way of “Touch Me” which featured on Nightmare on Elm Street 2, for us to enjoy.
The dance pop classic which previously provided hits back in the day for both Wish ft. Fonda Rae and Cathy Denis, is given a very Bright Light Bright Light touch of electrifying shininess by Rod Thomas who schools these beats into seamless fusion of old and new pop flavours. He’s even whipped his sax out to give this interpretation an extra special 80’s dimension of pop nostalgia.
We’re thinking our movie nights will never be the same when the limited edition “Cinematography” CD with gatefold poster arrives in our hot little handies. It’ll provide a nice little warm-up / after party to our cinema evenings at home in our comfy lounge chairs as we snack on rainbow popcorn and wash it down with craft soda pops, what else!
We feel super sparkly even at the thought of it!
