Pride month is off to a flying start. The fabulous Tia Kofi has just dropped her “Pride.Power.Pop” EP and it is absolutely amazing. Not only does it include three of Tia’s most recent singles. Also featured is the song “Satellite” a cover of the German 2010 winning Eurovision entry by Lena, which Tia unleashed recently to coincide with the Eurovision competition being held in Liverpool. You can tell that Tia is a true pop star with incredible talent. The EP’s lead single, “Standing Up For The Lonely,” is thoroughly exhilarating and will leave you feeling empowered.

Pop fans might remember the song “Standing Up For The Lonely.” Since it was written by Xenomania and recorded by an artist named Jessica Malakouti in the first instance (who also went by the stage name Jessie and the Toy Boys, or EdenXO). Jessica released “Standing Up For The Lonely” as her debut UK single in 2009. Tia’s version differs in that the song has transformed into a catchy piano house dance song which features her own unique and vocally emboldened interpretation.

The “Pride.Power.Pop.” EP listened through as a complete body of work. The whole thing makes you feel good and want to dance. The narrative scenarios are so relatable. The beats are irresistible. Every track sees Tia turn on her pop diva charm while exhibiting a classic dancefloor sound. I can see this being a dancefloor staple for years to come. Take a listen to the EP HERE
