For those who thought summer had ended, think again. Maybon, Skylike and rainage are three of Norway’s rising electronic music talent. Who have bottled up some sunshine, unleashing it in their latest collaborative offering “Joyride.” In his short time making music, Maybon has seen some huge, success in his native country. Similarly, with singer-songwriter rainage and producer-songwriter Skylike, the audio streams are on a skyrocketing trajectory.

I commend these three for pooling together their strengths. Being undaunted and unleashing the fruits of their labours in what are such challenging circumstances for EDM artists, at present. I wanted to support this release because I am full of admiration for their resilience and focus. They are making sure that one of the worst-hit music genres by the pandemic remains heard. I’d go so far to call their actions vital to the continued success of the EDM movement right now.

If you are looking for something uplifting to perk you up, it won’t come more uplifting than “Joyride.” A track which acts as a reminder to indulge in nothing but unadulterated fun when we can. I am definitely hopeful, by the time Summer, 2021 arrives, social distancing rules may have become more relaxed. That we’ll be happy dancing ourselves silly to anthems like “Joyride” but what’s to stop us from having a crazy bop from the safety of our kitchen. As Sophie Ellis Bextor, showed us it can be tremendous fun. With the hi-energy pop of “Joyride” as our guide what could go wrong?
