The title “If You Didn’t See Me (Then You Weren’t On The Dancefloor)” says enough. The honest statement is the latest single from Detroit duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. (No relation to the NASCAR drivers, although Dale Earnhardt Jr is a fan). Their new release is the perfect summer anthem for hipsters everywhere combining party starting synths and sing-a-long lyrics. The track opens slow like the rising sun then explodes into an up-tempo dance tune. While it has a familiar sound to popular indie-pop songs, don’t push these guys into the Passion Pit and Miike Snow category just yet. Their debut, “It’s A Corporate World” released last year painted the duo as an emerging alternative pop act. However, in this new release we hear their range in genres. “If You Didn’t See Me” sounds like something they would have remixed for one of their party mixes or live shows. Their unique style provides something for everyone.

“If You Didn’t See Me” appears on the band’s upcoming EP “Patterns” due out April 16. Get ready to shake off your winter blues and get back on the dancefloor. In the wise words of the band, “You’re suppose to blend in with the bass.” I couldn’t agree more. Cheers!
