I realise I haven’t covered many emerging artists for a while. Yet, I fully take on board how it is a difficult time at the moment for up-and-coming music acts to make an impression. Especially when lots of us are preoccupied, by other more pressing issues. New music releases and learning about the stars of tomorrow does remain a vital source of pleasure and enjoyment for me all the same. It has turned out to be quite a hectic few weeks for music releases, but I didn’t want to let the Caroline Romano track “I Still Remember” (R3HAB Remix,) slip through the net.
For her latest effort, the teenage wunderkind has teamed up with the Dutch DJ and producer, R3HAB. Famed for his hefty remixes of Madonna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, we know that the world ranking DJ specialises in working with established and recognised, on-the-cusp pop artists. And in doing so reveals quite a lot about the prospects of Caroline Romano. (Who I haven’t been aware of before.) Regardless of the singer-songwriter from Mississippi, shooting to top three on the Radio Disney Top 30 Chart, opening up for Shawn Mendes and Kelsi Ballerini. She is an abundance of vocal talent with a voice of gorgeous beauty like spun gold.
Caroline has only just begun becoming acquainted with electronic-pop grooves, swapping into the genre from a background created in pop. Her linking up with R3HAB pushes her artist profile into new waters. Clarifying how seamlessly her voice lends itself to taking on different styles. As a pop star on-the-rise, Caroline is appearing in all the right places, coveted radio spots, playlists and tour support slots. “I Still Remember” is without a doubt her biggest bop to date and yet, she seems right at home fronting such a weighty mix, as she does, vocally heading up, her usual lyrically steered pop tracks.
I’ve heard enough on the R3HAB collaboration to recognise Caroline as a little ball of fire, talent. She is certainly off to a great start on creating a musical legacy with “I Still Remember.”
