If you know your Swedish pop inside and out, you’ll now likely as not, be having a lightbulb moment in facial recognition of the trendy young fella above. However, if you simply cannot put a name to the face, I’m here to tell you its Marcus Borman of the avant-garde electronic pop duo For BDK. You know it now, huh, the guy who pairs up alongside Adele Kosman, doing his damnedest to be looking lovely and glam and moody.
It’s actually been a full 2 years since we last dropped in on the duo and they went headfirst into issuing their innovatively superb debut album “For Body, Drugs & Kicks”. Although, the duo kinda kept their online socializing on the low, I did pick up word that they are currently back in the studio working up new material.
Additional to this it seems, Marcus has taken to exercising a little onside project of his own named See Me No More. It’s all kind of mysterious, but that is exactly the way that For BDK roll, so would expect no less of a lone Marcus.
As far as I can make out, there is nothing more than a Soundcloud account in the artist name See Me No More, yet totally the For BDK soundcloud account have shared and shouted out the 1 SMNM track “Gravity” on more than occasion. Curiosity of course, got the better of me and I was not at all disappointed in my findings, as why else would I be here telling all to you!
Much in the vein of For BDK’s material “Gravity” leans heavy on the electronic pop theatrics, giving out the full measure of dramatic dynamics, while the lyrics centre themselves on the simplistic side. However, in hearing Marcus taking vocal centre stage like this, he really should do it more often, as his soulful tonality is just in all the right places, spine tinglingly intense.
Whether this all becomes something more than For BDK as a new side project or a way to filter out sneaky tester of the new For BDK material the duo are working, we’ll not truthfully know until Marcus or Adele see fit to tell us one way or the other.
So, let’s for now enjoy it for what it is, an epically sublime piece of artistically sought electronica.
Whilst, I suggest we all unite in channeling our thoughts and hang our hopes out there into the music universe, that in some shape or form there’ll be more of this to come.
