Now and then, Todrick Hall releases a new track that slays me completely. With “Mask, Gloves, Soap, Scrubs” and “Rainin’ Fellas“, he did this. Strike three hits today with the release of “Dance Forever”, a track that marks a new era for the world-renowned Broadway actor and recording artist. Things are moving at a fast pace. Todrick’s “Femuline” world tour is in full swing already. Yet his focus is ahead. The Jeeve produced track “Dance Forever” seemed too exciting to wait until the tour ended, huh?

I can hardly blame Todrick for his enthusiasm around this release. When it is an 80s synth-pop style anthem. It is comparable to that which appears in 80s movies such as “Flashdance” (think the track “Maniac“) or “She Works Hard For The Money” the iconic Donna Summer hit. “Dance Forever” comes replete with a full tank of high energy. A few seconds into it, my head spun with fond memories of a time when life was simpler and more carefree. (And, being precisely what Todrick had in mind for the song). Having written it about living in the moment and becoming lost in the rapture of dance.

Listen on Apple Music

Dance, forever, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight”, he sings.

There is no doubt about it. This song oozes pure unadulterated escapism that pours like rain from every synth tapped beat and uplifting lyric. It goes with saying I like the groove and the musical, retro styling. Furthermore, I can tell you it is more delicious after a few listens.
