This is kind of a new direction for the pop newcomer with an EDM influence, but if you have seen any of his choreography videos… Rilan is going in the proper direction. With this 90s club influence, if your body does not lose control; you may be a part of the walking dead. Are you a zombie? ‘Blindfolds’ has this perfect balance between melody and lyrical structure. With the popular electro direction, there is this ease to lose yourself in either lyrics or the melody. Not just the whole song. With this track in particular you’re able to capture that deeper meaning lyrically of being rejected by a lover and not being able to lift that cover of lust blinding you from reality. Though, with such a darker theme it’s hard not to be sucked into an uplifting feel by the soulful vocals of Naz Tokio. Both vocals take a bit of an immersive element by showcasing how one must feel in the presence of their desired partner. Just a flutter of emotions overtaking your soul. You lose all common sense and can’t walk away from the denial of affection. Even with a great bop to the melody, you can just feel the giddiness of love. Even if it’s a tad obsessive.
