When I’m feeling in the mood for some poignant, soul-stirring tunes, I know exactly where to go. I look up Milahroy on Spotify. And then steal myself away for some peaceful solitude. Therefore, enabling me to fully immerse in the emotion of the lyrics and heartfelt vocal performances. Namely, that is evoked in Milahroy’s captivating singer-songwriting. Although I am equally excited at the prospect of them performing live in London as part of the EQ Music, New Artist Showcase on the 27th of September. As Milahroy prepares to visit the UK, similarly also as part of their “Give In To Let Go” tour, they dropped a new track. Just in time before the tour kicks- off.
And it seems for those that have had the pleasure of catching Milahroy on recent US dates, the track in question “Backseat” has worked its charm, becoming an instant fan favourite.
Especially, if like me you loved the highly emotive and vulnerable styling in the recent track “What If?.” You might similarly appreciate the incredible authenticity shared in “Backseat.” The musically stripped-back, acoustic-pop offering works to heighten upon the evolving story of self-discovery and reflection.
“We shared a class and then a bed. You called it best friends. Your mom knew before we did, but we were only kids. Oh, how I wish you and your wife the best.” Milahroy laments in the revelatory song lyrics.
It is so brave to dig deep like this. They really do bare their soul in their music. Sharing a coming-out experience shows much courage. And I get that in their yearning, Milahroy especially wants other souls who relate to their situation to feel seen and understood. Sometimes, merely knowing someone has gone through a similar experience is just what we need to help us get through our struggles. Milahroy’s emotionally drenched vocal is equally a source of comfort in this instance. While keeping tender and melancholy at the same time.
Furthermore the poignant yet heartfelt artistry of “Backseat” is a clear indication why you should keep your eyes peeled on Milahroy, who is a rising star to watch in 2024.
Similarly, we are incredibly thrilled to announce. Milahroy will be performing at our upcoming New Artist Showcase in London on 27th September 2024 at The Camden Club. Joining Milahroy will be talented artists including Jason Kwan, Dan Aura, Eduard, TIN, Emmett, and Yiannis.
