Here is a voice which I found too captivating to ignore. Anthony Starble is a singer-songwriter who is likeliest found sat in front of a piano, not an electronic synthesiser, keyboard or plugged into Ableton. It appears he’s an accomplished songwriter as well. He wrote his first song at the age of fifteen and later won the Berklee Songwriting competition for high school students at the age of sixteen. The current single is called “Paperweight.” I found the original piano steered edit of it incredibly moving and Starble’s sublime voice is powerfully exquisite, it sent waves of shivery excitement down my spine when I first heard this track in its natural state.
However, as much as I am an instant fan of the song as it is, it has been on the receiving end of some lovely, well-thought about, remix treatments. The Klassiks is LA producer, Joey Mora, he works in a breezy, uplifting style of production, in complement with the tracks richly, emotive sound. Mora has taken on board, the strong narrative flavour of the song and hasn’t overstepped the mark by obliterating the subtleties, sense of vulnerability, or poignant nature which seeps through from Starble’s sentiment packed lyrics, where he explores his vision of love.
Anthony’s dreamily soulful vocals are filled with a soothing but natural authenticity. The lyrics while heartfelt and wise still manage to cover considerable dynamic ground. This is heartfelt music which demands your attention. Embrace Starble’s stunning voice as it delivers intense beauty, power and sincerity. Because without question, he is deserving of major success.
