As if you didn’t already know the main purpose of EQ Music Blog is to support and introduce emerging electronic pop artists to our readers. I strive to bring your attention to the best of the best, in my personal opinion every day. However, sometimes a bigger supported release comes by and throws me off the track. I like it so much, I just have to share my appreciation and fondness for said track, by writing about it. It’s not like global sensations, Producer/DJ Nicky Romero or singer-songwriter producer Taio Cruz really need a helping hand getting their music noticed. I have been a fan of Taio’s since way back, his track “Come On Girl” introduced me to Luciana and well that alone had me thinking, Mr Cruz, is even cooler than I first thought. Besides “Rokstarr” remains a solid album to today, and I would sure as hell not even hesitate for a minute to shake my groove thing to it in the club, even now. Naturally, you can then imagine my glee at receiving an email a few days ago giving me the heads-up about the track “Me On You“, a collaboration with Nicky Romero distributed through his Protocol Recordings label.
Romero prides himself on both championing new talent and carefully thought out collaborations. Bringing Taio onside for the vocal lead on “Me On You” could well see the Rokstarr make a resurgence on the music scene, you would not hear me complaining if this were to happen. I’m definitely hoping this collaboration will spark a reaction which more in the way will have lots of people saying, oh yeah, Taio Cruz he was rather good back in the day, wasn’t he? And by listening to this track stop to realise he still is
The track “Me On You” marks a new approach by the Dutch wunderkind Romero which see’s him beginning to experiment with a more radio-friendly sound than his usual club bangers. The two powerhouses are definitely capable of garnering up radio play with this peak of summer offering. The track is really, going to continue to prove both collaborators longevity in the industry.
