Yippee, Norwegian pop artist Dagny has at last released a proper studio version of fan favourite track “Hit Your Heart.” To give the song the kind of electronic powerfulness it required she has only gone and enlisted renowned producer Steve Aoki, on the final production edit. I know this song has been floating about for some considerable time in Dagny’s vault she plays it in most of her live sets, and it always sparks a good reaction. We actually managed to feature a live snippet of the song in the interview we recorded with Dagny at British Summer Time festival, 2017. The track certainly always had the feeling of smash hit potential about it. We are so glad to learn “Hit Your Heart” has been given it’s, moment to shine.
Even Dagny has remarked on the journey this track has been on, commenting on social media…

«HIT YOUR HEART» X @steveaoki is finally out and what a pleasure it is to share this recorded version with you! 🔥 This song has had a serious journey already. It was in Poland, 18th of June 2016 at 16:20, we played it live for the first time and it’s been my favorite song to sing since that day. Now we can finally sing it together! 🖤 Let me know how you feel about it x
On working with Dagny, Steve Aoki noted: “This collaboration came naturally I think to both of us. Her voice is so luscious and adaptable that I felt like I had a lot of musical freedom to produce something that would suit her vocals. She could fit into any genre, and that’s something I really admire about her.”
There really is a source of enjoyment to suit all tastes in this track. It is a song which has always had an incredible energy about it but also has it’s softer moments where Dagny flexes her vocal versatility with a tender, affecting performance. All the power and mightiness happen in the chorus, to be honest even though we can sense it is coming. When it strikes, it strikes punchy and hard with an unrelenting buzz.
Dagny has had a string of successes and lots of recognition. A monster smash has as yet, alluded her. Cards on the table I really, thought it would happen with “Wearing Nothing.” Collaborating with production titan Steve Aoki on this new cut should steer this track to the clubs and radio. I so badly want to hear it keep peeping up on, radio lots of times each day. Shout out to the DJ’s. I’m counting on you to serve some justice on this song.
