Pride month is here. The mood is celebratory and proudly rainbow coloured. With this, in mind, I am also expecting some of this year’s best songs to appear. With events taking place the world over uniting LGBTQ communities and spreading the one love message, there is bound to be a bounty of new songs especially written, by way of celebrating equality for all. One such anthem has already arrived in my inbox for the Tom Hugo track “Family” which is the Official 2018 Pride single in Norway.

The song has been written, by Tom Hugo and his fiancé Alex. Tom who also performs the track actually, was a finalist at Norway’s Eurovision’s national selection competition this year, with the song “I Like, I Like, I Like“. Although he didn’t make it through to the last stage of the competition, his ESC journey didn’t end here. The song “Family” was premiered, during Eurovision week at the WiwiJAM showcase in Lisbon.

Family is more than what you’re born, in to. It can also be your chosen one, and the song “Family” is a celebration of both” explains Tom. What a brilliant statement to make, inclusivity for everyone just makes me love this song, all the more. It goes without saying the track is driven by, a danceable beat but more than this it is a very, good song with a positive message. Embodying the fight for equality while giving back to the cause. Tom Hugo has decided to donate all his profits from sales/streaming of “Family” to the International Solidarity Fund managed by FRI – The Norwegian Organization for Sexual and Gender Equality. So what are you waiting for, get buying/streaming, and donating! Spread the love.
