Producer and DJ Matthew Dear has teamed up with Canadian sister duo Tegan and Sara on a scintillating synth-pop bop called “Bad Ones“.
The single is different to Matthew Dear’s usual, sonically basking style, “Bad Ones” is driven by a pop ethic which came about while Matthew was working on new songs. He discovered a loop which he thought past collaborators Tegan and Sara would be great on, approached them with it and voilà in a short space of time they’d figured out this sassy song.
I especially like that “Bad Ones” is here because of a gut instinct, which triggered a chain reaction of creative activity. The trio has delivered a pop-whopper of a track and its highly hooky, melody, will fill up your head with swirling electronic pop vibes in no time at all.
