Thanks to the amazing Lubert Daz for taking all the snaps on the night!

Last night's EQ @ Underbelly first birthday event was loads of glitz and sparkle as eight new pop and electro acts took to the stage for two hours of music and performance.  Lee Latchford-Evans of Steps fame even showed up to support the high-voltage ladies of ElectraCute and electronica pioneers Talvin Singh and Melnyk were there supporting MaJiKer – whose live act can only be described as "amazing".

Our headliners – The Dolly Rockers showed the Hoxton Square crowd what it truly meant to be "dolly rockered" by performing a hot four song set including "Champagne Shirley", "How Did I End Up With You", "Je Suis Un Dolly" and their new single "Gold Digger".

For me the most outstanding performance came from Dean Lennon.  It was the first time Dean had performed his new material and it went down extremely well with the crowd.  He's got a Sam Sparro-esqe meets JT vibe about his show and I can't wait to see his industry showcase now on Tuesday at 93 Feet East.

Ky Ismet's set was out-of-this world – still proving that he's one to watch out for.  Tenek played us a few songs from their new album (which I highly recommend) called "Stateless" and State City Disco debuted some new material as well from their upcoming EP!

The crown prince of electro – Madison closed out the night with a performance of "Iconic" and "Collision" and even delivered the beautiful Ultrasonics ballad "Zero Gravity" and a gorgeous cover of Imogen Heap's "Hide And Seek".

"There's a brand new girl going round, turning the boys upside down…"

All in all – it was a fun night.  I actually DJ'd for the first time – I felt a little strange at first behind the DJ booth, but got used to it after awhile.  I played loads of electro-pop including Little Boots, La Roux, Javi, Lady Gaga and Juvelen (which loads of people asked about).  DJ Adamix (the night's proper DJ) entertained the crowd throughout as well with some Michael Jackson electro remixes as a fitting tribute to the sad news that over-shadowed the day.

Our next show will be on July 31st.  As of now we have confirmed Luigi Masi, Saar & Sky, Rodrigo Moratto, QBoy, Tecnoctitlan, John Galea and Tonic on the line-up.  See you there!
